Alexander founded Cottonwood in 2012 with the singular focus on private equity real estate investing in the United States. Drawing on nearly two decades of global special opportunities, structured finance, restructuring, distress and principal investing experiences, he shaped the investment philosophy of Cottonwood to underscore risk-adjusted absolute return on investments irrespective of market environment. Under Alexander’s leadership, Cottonwood has expanded to encompass a national footprint with $3.1B under management. He is also a visiting Committee Member of MIT Corporation’s Economics Department, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics.
